Ingredients for Swiss Steak Recipe
- 1 pound steak, approximately 2 inches thick
- 1 cup flour
- 4 tomatoes, skinned and sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
- water
Instructions
- Pound flour into the steak.
- Put steak into a skillet, with 3 tablespoons oil and brown on both sides.
- Cover with water, adding sliced onion and tomatoes. Cover closely and let simmer for 3 hours.
- Just before steak is done, add salt and pepper to taste.
