Ingredients for Steak Fajita Recipe
- 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil (for cooking)
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- Salt to taste
- 1 pound round steaks or skirt steak, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 red bell peppers, sliced
- 2 green bell peppers, sliced
- Desired fajita fixings:
- Tortillas
- Cheese
- Sour cream
- Guacamole
- Salsa
- Beans
- Rice
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
Instructions
- Combine lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, cumin, chili powder, liquid smoke, and salt; stir well.
- Place sliced steak in a large cooking bag or shallow pan and add marinade. Mix well, making sure all slices of steak are well coated.
- Marinade in the refrigerator at least one hour, but preferably overnight for optimal flavor.
- Cook peppers and onion in vegetable or olive oil, stirring until slightly soft. Add steak and cook, stirring, until desired doneness.
- Serve with desired fajita fixings.
