Instructions

  1. Mix one quart of flour, one teaspoon of salt, one cup of fresh beef drippings, and one cup of cream, add water enough to make a dough.
  2. Roll out a bit of this mixture, spread with soft butter, sprinkle with flour, and roll up like jelly cake, cut off a portion, stand on end, heap on flour and roll out.
  3. This makes the flakes of the top crust.
  4. The lower crust is rolled out from the plain mixture.
