Ingredients for Roast Leg Of Mutton Recipe

  • 1 leg of mutton
  • Flour
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
  2. Wipe the mutton with a dump cloth, remove the outside skin and excess of fat, sprinkle it with salt, pepper and flour and place on a rack in a roasting pan.
  3. Allow fifteen or twenty minutes to a pound for roasting.
  4. When the meat is done, remove it from the pan.
  5. Also remove all except one tablespoon of the fat.
  6. In the maining fat, brown two tablespoons flour, 1 1/2 cups boiling water, and stir constantly until it thickens.
  7. Cook two minutes.
  8. Season to taste and strain.
  9. Serve as gravy.
