Ingredients for Pop Overs Recipe 1

  • 1 egg, beaten light
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 teaspoons butter
  • 1 cup sifted pastry flour

Instructions

  1. Beat the egg lightly and add the milk. Continue to use the beater while the flour and salt are gradually beaten into the liquid.
  2. Butter six cups of an iron gem pan. Half fill the other six with boiling water, put a teaspoon of butter into each of the buttered cups, and pour the mixture into them.
  3. Bake on the floor of a moderate oven about thirty-five minutes.
