Ingredients for Pop-overs Recipe

  • Scant 1 cup milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable fat
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup entire wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup white flour

Instructions

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients.
  2. Pour in half of the milk, and stir until smooth and free from lumps.
  3. Add the remaining milk, the fat and the egg slightly beaten, and beat vigorously for a few minutes, to incorporate air into the mixture.
  4. Pour into well oiled, hot iron gem pans, and bake about 30 minutes, in a medium oven.
  5. Pop-overs bake fairly well in small tins.
