Ingredients for Plain Omelet Recipe 4

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 tablespoons milk or water
  • 1 teaspoon butter

Instructions

  1. Break the eggs into a bowl and add seasonings.
  2. Give them twelve vigorous beats with the fork and add milk.
  3. Melt butter in omelet pan, pour in the egg, and shake over moderate heat until they are set.
  4. Hold the omelet pan by the handle in the left hand. With a knife, make two inch cuts opposite each other at right angles to the handle. Place the knife under the omelet nearest the handle and tip pan slowly over a hot platter. Pass the knife under the omelet slowly.
  5. To make an omelet with jelly, parsley, ham, cheese, or chicken, spread the seasoning over the egg just before rolling it.
