Ingredients for Milk Biscuit Recipe

  • 8 oz pastry flour
  • 4 oz cake flour
  • 1/4 oz sugar
  • 3/4 oz baking powder
  • a pinch of kosher salt
  • 2 oz butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 oz shortening
  • 8 oz milk
  • 2oz cream for wash

Instructions

  1. Sift the flours, sugar, and baking powder.
  2. Add the kosher salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter and the shortening.
  4. Mix in the milk.
  5. Roll to about 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Cut into 3 inch rounds.
  7. Wash with the cream.
  8. Bake at 375 until golden brown.
