Ingredients for Light Apple Pie Recipe

  • 3 cups sliced apple
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, divided
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup corn syrup
  • 2 flaky pie crusts

Instructions

  1. Line a pie plate with one of the pie crusts.
  2. Sift 3/4 teaspoon of cornstarch over the apples and mix with the corn syrup. Add a trace of salt.
  3. Sift the remaining cornstarch over the crust and put in the apple mixture, making it as level as possible.
  4. Moisten the edge of the crust and put on the top crust, which has been slashed.
  5. Brush top crust with corn oil and bake about 35 minutes in an oven, hot at first, then 375 degrees F. moderated.
