- 6 carrots, peeled
- 6 turnips, peeled
- 4 onions, peeled
- 1 cabbage, cored, cut in quarters
- Water
- Seasonings to taste

- Put all ingredients in a kettle.
- Cover with water.
- Place cover on kettle.
- Cook slowly for 2 hours.
