Ingredients for Jellied Prunes

  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) granulated gelatin
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup boiling water
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ½ pound prunes
  • 2 cups water
  • Cream

Instructions

  1. Wash the prunes, soak overnight in the water and cook until tender in the same water.
  2. Drain, reserving the liquid.
  3. Remove the stones and cut the prunes in quarters.
  4. Mix prune juice and pulp and add boiling water, if necessary, to make two cups.
  5. Chill and add lemon juice.
  6. Follow directions on package for making jelly.
  7. This may be served with whipped or plain cream.
