Ingredients for Green Apple Pie Recipe
- 2 light pie crusts
- 5-6 apples
- 1 tsp. sugar
- Desired flavoring such as powdered ginger, 2 or 3 cloves, grated lemon-rind or lemon juice, a little cinnamon, etc.
Instructions
- Wet the edge of a pie dish with the crust.
- Pare, core, and slice the apples.
- Lay the apples in a dish with a little sugar and any desired flavoring. Top with a thin crust.
- If the apples are dry, the parings and cores may be boiled with a little sugar and flavoring, and the strained juice added to the fruit.
- Bake the pie in a quick oven for 45 minutes to an hour.
- It may be served hot or cold.
