Ingredients for Gold Cake Recipe 1
- ¾ cup sugar
- 5 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- ½ cup milk
- 4 yolks of eggs
- 1½ cups flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon lemon extract
Instructions
- Cream vegetable shortening and sugar together.
- Beat egg yolks very light and add to creamed mixture.
- Add dry ingredients, milk, and lemon extract and mix well.
- Turn into a small vegetable shorteninged and floured cake tin and bake in moderate oven forty-five minutes.
- Sufficient for one small cake.
