Ingredients for Gold Cake Recipe 1

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 5 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • ½ cup milk
  • 4 yolks of eggs
  • 1½ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon lemon extract

Instructions

  1. Cream vegetable shortening and sugar together.
  2. Beat egg yolks very light and add to creamed mixture.
  3. Add dry ingredients, milk, and lemon extract and mix well.
  4. Turn into a small vegetable shorteninged and floured cake tin and bake in moderate oven forty-five minutes.
  5. Sufficient for one small cake.
