Ingredients for Gluten Bread Recipe 3

  • 2 cups scalded milk
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 yeast cake
  • 3 cups gluten flour

Instructions

  1. Mix vegetable shortening, boiling water, milk, and salt.
  2. When lukewarm, add yeast cake dissolved in warm water, egg, and gluten.
  3. Let rise.
  4. Beat well. Add enough gluten to make a stiff dough and knead well.
  5. Allow to rise again and shape in loaves. Place in bread pans, let rise, and bake for one hour at 400 degrees.
  6. Sufficient for two small loaves.
