Ingredients for Ginger Pear Preserve Recipe

  • 3 pounds pears, peeled, cored, and quartered
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 2 lemons, juice and grated rind
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, cut in small pieces

Instructions

  1. Boil the water. Add the pears and let cook until tender.
  2. Add the lemon juice, rind, sugar and ginger.
  3. Boil rapidly for 5 minutes.
  4. Place pears in sterilized jars, pour over them the boiling syrup and seal.
