Ingredients for Cream Of Tomato Soup Recipe 1
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1½ tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 1 cup milk
- 2½ cups strained tomato juice
- Salt, pepper, and paprika to taste
- A pinch baking soda
- 1 tablespoon tomato catsup
Instructions
- Blend vegetable shortening and flour together in saucepan over heat. Add milk and bring to boiling point.
- Heat tomato juice, tomato catsup, and add soda and seasonings.
- Just before serving, add vegetable shortening mixture to tomato juice and stir till boiling.
- Serve hot.
