Ingredients for Coffee Pie Recipe

  • 3 tablespoons ground coffee
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pastry pie crust

Instructions

  1. Line pie plate with pie crust.
  2. Bake for about 10 minutes, until the pie crust is light brown.
  3. Boil slowly the milk with the ground coffee for about 1 minute.
  4. Let stand for 5 minutes after boiling, and strain eggs with flour, salt and sugar.
  5. Add gradually the scalded milk and coffee.
  6. Cook on fire, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  7. Pour mixture into the baked pie crust, and put in slow oven (250-300 degrees) for about 5 minutes, just long enough to have the mixture adhere to the crust.
