Ingredients for Chestnut Biscuits Recipe
- 3 cups chestnut flour
- 1 cup white flour
- 4 tablespoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1½ cups cold milk
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Mix chestnut flour, white flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Rub in the shortening with the tips of the fingers.
- Quickly mix in the cold milk to form a soft dough.
- Roll out to a thickness of 1/2 inch on a floured pastry board.
- Cut with biscuit cutter.
- Place in greased and floured biscuit tins.
- Bake at 425 degrees for about 10 to 15 minutes.
