Cabbage With Ham Recipe

Instructions
  1. Melt a tablespoon of butter, and when hot turn in three pints of white cabbage shaved fine.
  2. Cover tightly and simmer on the back of the range until the cabbage turns yellow.
  3. Sprinkle with a teaspoon of salt, a few grains of cayenne, and a cup of minced cold boiled ham.
  4. Add one-fourth cup of white wine vinegar, stir well, cover and cook slowly for two hours.
