Ingredients for Apples In Jelly Recipe

  • 5 apples
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 bottle maraschino cherries
  • 2 tablespoons gelatin soaked in 1/2 cup water
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Heat sugar and water until syrupy
  2. Peel and core five apples. Fill with raisins and cherries.
  3. Place apples in syrup and cook until tender. Carefully remove and place on dish with 1-inch deep sides
  4. Add lemon and cherry juice and gelatin to syrup.
  5. When thoroughly dissolved and nearly cool, pour around and over apples.
  6. Color any shade with color paste.
  7. Cut out apples with round cutter if it is to be served as individuals. They are pretty served in crystal dish with meat course.
