Ingredients for Almond Fingers

  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Rub vegetable shortening into flour, add sugar and baking powder.
  2. Make into stiff paste with egg.
  3. Roll out and cut into fingers.
  4. Chop 1 cup almonds and mix with 1/2 cup sifted sugar, and white 1 egg.
  5. Spread on fingers and bake quickly a light brown color.
