Ingredients for White Loaf Recipe
- 8 egg whites
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sweet milk
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- Flavor to taste
Instructions
- Sift flour once, then measure, add soda and sift three times; cream butter and sugar thoroughly; whip whites of eggs to a foam, add cream of tartar, and whip until very stiff; add to the creamed butter and sugar, then add milk, flour, and flavor, and stir very hard.
- Bake in a slow oven 30 to 50 minutes.
