Ingredients for Wheat Puff Recipe

  • 1 cup sifted white flour
  • 1/3 cup entire wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons melted vegetable butter
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Put milk, egg yolk, salt, and butter into a bowl and mix well.
  2. Add the flour and use a spoon to mix smooth. Do not beat the batter since or the puffs will blow out in the top.
  3. Beat the egg white until it is stiff and fold it in the batter with a few long strokes. Avoid breaking down the lightness of the egg.
  4. Using a large spoon, drop the batter into hot, oiled iron gem pans and bake until brown on medium heat.
