Ingredients for Welsh Rabbit
- 4 slices of bread, toasted
- 4 cups American cheese, grated or cut in pieces
- ½ cup butter
- ¼ cup water
- Cayenne pepper
- Seasonings to taste

Instructions
- Put butter, cheese, water, pepper and seasonings in a sauce pan.
- Melt slowly on fire, stirring constantly.
- When melted, this will form a smooth paste.
- Pour it over each piece of toast.
- This dish must be served hot.
- When obtainable, beer may be used instead of water, the result being better.
