Ingredients for Venison Quarter With Apples And Carraway Seeds

  • 8 to 10 pounds of venison
  • 6 onions, peeled, sliced
  • 8 apples, peeled, cored, quartered
  • 1 tablespoon carraway seeds
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup water
  • Seasonings to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix together apples, onions, carraway seeds, butter and seasonings.
  2. Place the venison in a roasting pan and cover with the mixture.
  3. Add the water and cook slowly in a moderate oven.
  4. The time of cooking depends on the age of the venison, but 15 minutes to each pound of venison usually is sufficient.
