Ingredients for Venison Quarter With Apples And Carraway Seeds Recipe
- 8 to 10 pounds of venison
- 6 onions, peeled, sliced
- 8 apples, peeled, cored, quartered
- 1 tablespoon carraway seeds
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup water
- Seasonings to taste
Instructions
- Mix together apples, onions, carraway seeds, butter and seasonings.
- Place the venison in a roasting pan and cover with the mixture.
- Add the water and cook slowly in a moderate oven.
- The time of cooking depends on the age of the venison, but 15 minutes to each pound of venison usually is sufficient.
