Ingredients for Velvet Molasses Candy Recipe 1

  • Put 1½ pounds sugar
  • ½ pint molasses
  • ½ pint water
  • ¼ cup vinegar

Instructions

  1. In agate kettle.
  2. Heat; when boiling add 1/2 teaspoon cream tartar; boil till it crisps in cold water.
  3. Stir; when almost done add 1/4 pound butter, 1/4 teaspoon soda.
  4. Cool in buttered pan and pull.
