Ingredients for Turnip Soup Recipe
- 2 pounds peeled turnips, cut into small squares
- 4 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 3 pints stock
- 1 cup of good cream
Instructions
- Place turnips in a stewpan with vegetable shortening and stir them over high heat.
- Add pinch salt, flour, and stock. Simmer gently for 1 1/2 hours and pass whole through a sieve.
- Put back in stewpan, and add little seasoning.
- Bring to boil, and just before sending to table add good cream.
