Ingredients for Truffle Sauce Recipe

  • 4 truffles, cleaned and peeled
  • 1/2 pint good brown sauce
  • 1 glass sherry
  • 1 tablespoon strained lemon juice, if desired

Instructions

  1. Cut the truffles into 1/4 inch squares.
  2. Put them into a stewpan with the brown sauce and stir over a gentle fire for ten minutes.
  3. Add sherry, and, if liked, strained lemon juice.
  4. Boil for 10 minutes.
  5. Sufficient for four or five persons.
