Ingredients for Tomato Cream Soup--no. 2 Recipe

  • 1 quart of tomatoes
  • Pinch of soda
  • 1 teaspoon onion juice
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 pint of milk
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Stew tomatoes until soft and then rub them through a colander.
  2. Add soda and onion juice and return to the heat.
  3. Put butter and flour in another saucepan and cook until they bubble. Then pour a pint of milk upon them.
  4. When the milk thickens, add the tomatoes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, and just before serving add a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
