Ingredients for Tea Cakes Recipe 2

  • ¼ cup corn oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1-1/3 cups bread flour
  • 2-½ tablespoons Argo or Kingsford's Cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and heat until bubbly.
  2. Transfer to cup cake pans lightly rubbed with corn oil, sprinkle with desiccated coconut and bake in a moderately hot oven, 350 to 375 degrees Funtil done - about twenty-five minutes.
  3. Chocolate Tea Cakes
  4. Add one and one-half squares melted chocolate to "Tea Cakes."
  5. Nut and Raisin Tea Cakes
  6. Prepare plain Tea Cakes, stirring into the flour, one-third cup each chopped raisins and nuts.
  7. Cover with Plain Confectioner's Icing.
