Ingredients for Tea Cakes Recipe 2
- ¼ cup corn oil
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk
- 1-1/3 cups bread flour
- 2-½ tablespoons Argo or Kingsford's Cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions
- Put all the ingredients in a bowl and heat until bubbly.
- Transfer to cup cake pans lightly rubbed with corn oil, sprinkle with desiccated coconut and bake in a moderately hot oven, 350 to 375 degrees Funtil done - about twenty-five minutes.
- Chocolate Tea Cakes
- Add one and one-half squares melted chocolate to "Tea Cakes."
- Nut and Raisin Tea Cakes
- Prepare plain Tea Cakes, stirring into the flour, one-third cup each chopped raisins and nuts.
- Cover with Plain Confectioner's Icing.
