Ingredients for Stuffed Turnips Recipe

  • 6 turnips, even in size
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2-3 slices bacon
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon chopped onion
  • ½ cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash, then boil turnips until tender
  2. Cut off turnip tops and scoop out center of each
  3. Chop the centers finely
  4. Also chop fine the bacon and onion
  5. Saute all the chopped ingredients along with most of the breadcrumbs in butter
  6. Blend in the milk.
  7. Scoop the mixture into the turnip shells and sprinkle the tops with remaining crumbs and a small pat of butter on each
  8. Bake for 10 minutes in a 400 degree oven or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
