Ingredients for Stuffed French Toast
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 8 slices French bread
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Beat eggs; stir in cinnamon, vanilla, and milk, blending well.
- Make 4 banana "sandwiches": place a layer of banana slices on a piece of bread and then top with another piece of bread.
- Dip sandwiches in egg mixture, turning to coat both sides evenly.
- Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat.
- Fry each sandwich until lightly browned on each side, approximately 2 minutes per side.
- Transfer sandwiches to a cookie sheet and place in a 350 degree oven. Cook 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
- If desired, serve with maple syrup, butter, whipped cream, fresh fruit, and chocolate syrup.
