String Beans With Cream Sauce Recipe

Instructions

  1. Boil beans (see Boiled String Beans), drain, and return to saucepan.
  2. Rub a tablespoon of butter and flour to a paste cream by gradually adding 1/2 pint of cream or milk.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and a dash of nutmeg, also paprika or red pepper.
  4. Pour over beans and bring to a boil, then serve.
