Steamed Clams Recipe

Instructions

  1. Wash and scrub clam shells; place in kettle; add water, allowing 1/2 cup water for each peck of clams.
  2. Cover kettle and cook until shells open.
  3. Serve hot with the following sauce: 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, 4 tablespoons chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and red pepper to taste.
  4. Cream vegetable shortening and add remaining ingredients.
  5. Kettle should be removed from range as soon as shells open, otherwise clams will be over cooked.
