Ingredients for Spud nuts Recipe

  • 2 envelopes yeast, dissolved
  • 4 cups scalded milk, cooled
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • enough flour to make a soft dough

Instructions

  1. Add soaked yeast to cooled milk.
  2. Add sugar, eggs, margarine, salt, and potatoes; stir well.
  3. Add enough flour to make a soft dough.
  4. Let dough rise.
  5. Knead dough until smooth and elastic.
  6. Let dough rise again.
  7. Roll out to 1/2 inch thick and cut out donuts with donut cutter.
  8. Let donuts rise.
  9. Deep fry until golden.
  10. While still hot, dip in glaze, or sugar.
