Ingredients for Spice Syrup For Tea Recipe

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves, crushed
  • 2 inch piece stick cinnamon, broken is pieces
  • Juice of 2 lemons

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, place water and sugar. Heat to boiling point.
  2. Loosely tie the cloves and cinnamon together in a piece of cheesecloth.
  3. When sugar is dissolved, add cloves and cinnamon.
  4. Boil gently to 215 degrees or to a thin syrup.
  5. When cool, add lemon juice.
  6. Serve in small bowl, using 1 tablespoon syrup in each cup of tea.
