Ingredients for Southern Cornbread Recipe

• 1 cup sour milk
• ½ teaspoon soda dissolved in 1 teaspoon water
• 1 egg yolk
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 1-½ cups cornmeal
• White of one egg beaten stiff

Instructions

1. Mix sour cream, soda, egg yolk, salt, and cornmeal. When mixed, stir in egg white.
2. Bake in muffin tins or in a shallow pan at 350 degrees for fifteen minutes.
