  • 2 heaping cups of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with sugar
  • 1 pint boiling water
  • ½ cup sherry
  • 1 tablespoon butter

  1. Cook until smooth and thick Serve hot Use claret if preferred
