Ingredients for Scotch Scones Recipe 2
- 1-¼ cups rolled oats put through food chopper
- 2 tablespoons corn oil
- 2/3 cup scalded milk
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup, Red or Blue Label
- 1-½ cups bread flour
- 1 tablespoons Argo or Kingsford's Cornstarch
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Put the oatmeal in a small mixing bowl, add the corn oil, corn syrup and hot milk.
- When cold, add the remaining ingredients sifted together.
- Mix, turn onto a floured board and divide into two portions.
- Roll each into a round cake, one-half inch thick, cut into four triangles, bake on a hot griddle oiled with corn oil, turning only once.
- Allow about fifteen minutes for the cooking.
- Serve with butter, plain or with any marmalade or jelly.
