Ingredients for Scotch Hotchpotch Recipe
- 2 quarts lamb or mutton broth
- 2 carrots, grated
- 3 carrots, sliced
- Shredded young turnips, onion, parsley to make 1 quart
- 1 pint young green peas
- 1 pint of chopped cauliflower
- 2 pounds of lamb or mutton cutlet
- Salt
- Pepper
- Additional chopped pepper

Instructions
- Strain and remove all the fat from lamb broth.
- Add carrots, turnips, onion, and parsley to the stock.
- Add half the peas and the cauliflower to the stock.
- Stew the soup slowly for half an hour.
- Trim and chop the lamb cutlet and add with the remainder of the peas to the stock.
- Season with pepper, salt, and chopped parsley. Simmer briefly, then serve.
