Instructions

  1. In vegetable shorteninged fireproof dish arrange layer of stewed pumpkin, cover with layer of boiled rice, then layer of white sauce, proceed until ingredients are used.
  2. Cover with crumbs, dot with vegetable shortening and bake until browned on top.
  3. To cook pumpkin, cut in two, scrape out the interior, pare and cut into small pieces.
  4. Steam and cook till tender.
  5. Rub through a sieve, add 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening, season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
