Sausage and Onion Gravy Recipe

Ingredients for Sausage and Onion Gravy Recipe
- 6 thick beef sausages
- 2 large onions
- 2 tablespoons flour (SR preferred)
- 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin olive Oil
- 1-1/2 cups of beef stock or vegetable stock (for beef or pork sausage, if using chicken sausages, pork or chicken stock is recommended)
- Salt & Ground Black Pepper
- Seasoning - Masterfoods All Purpose seasoning or Mixed Herbs
- A couple of drops of Parisian Essence (The more drops the darker the colour)
Instructions
- Cut onions into large chunks
- Place olive oil in frying pan and bring up heat, add onions & sausages cook until sausages are firm
- Remove sausages from the pan and cut lengthways, then into small portions
- Replace into pan, add seasoning, salt & pepper and add 1 cup of stock. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Mix half cup of stock and flour into a bowl. Add it to onions and sausages. Add a few drops of Parisian Essence for colour. Bring to a boil, continuously stirring gravy until it thickens and adheres to sausages and gravy pulls away from the base of pan.
- Serve with Mashed Potatoes and boiled vegetables
