Ingredients for Rye Muffins Recipe 1

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup ryemeal
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, meal, baking powder, and salt together.
  2. Beat egg and sugar together, then add milk and melted vegetable shortening.
  3. Mix and divide into vegetable shorteninged gem pans and bake in moderate oven for twelve minutes.
  4. Sufficient for twelve muffins.
