Ingredients for Rye Meal Muffins Recipe 1

  • 1/2 cup rye meal
  • 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 level teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Sift together all the dry ingredients three times.
  2. Beat the egg, add the milk, and stir into the dry ingredients.
  3. Lastly, beat in the butter.
  4. Bake in six well-buttered muffin cups in a moderate oven about twenty-five minutes. Half fill the other six cups with boiling water.
  5. Heat the pan before filling.
