Ingredients for Rye Fritters
- 2-½ cups rye flour
- ¼ cup Argo or Kingsford's Cornstarch
- 1 cup cornmeal
- ¾ cup corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 egg
- 1-¼ cups milk

Instructions
- Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Dissolve the soda in a tablespoon of water and add with the liquid ingredients and the egg, beaten.
- Half fill the frying kettle with corn oil and heat to 350 degrees For until it will brown a bit of bread in one minute.
- Drop in the fritter batter by large teaspoons and fry from eight to ten minutes.
- Drain on crumpled paper and serve with heated corn syrup.
