Ingredients for Rye Biscuit Recipe
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup rye flakes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- 1 yeast cake dissolved
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- Flour
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast cake in lukewarm water.
- Add boiling water to rye flakes and let stand one hour.
- Add molasses, salt, butter, dissolved yeast cake, and flour.
- Let rise and beat thoroughly.
- Pour into buttered bread pans, let rise again, and bake at 400 degrees until lightly browned.
