Ingredients for Rye Biscuit Recipe

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup rye flakes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 yeast cake dissolved
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • Flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast cake in lukewarm water.
  2. Add boiling water to rye flakes and let stand one hour.
  3. Add molasses, salt, butter, dissolved yeast cake, and flour.
  4. Let rise and beat thoroughly.
  5. Pour into buttered bread pans, let rise again, and bake at 400 degrees until lightly browned.
