Ingredients for Rolled Oats, Rolled Wheat, Or Rolled Rye Recipe

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup of your choice of cereal
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Have the two parts of the double boiler together with water in the outer part and the two cups of water and the salt in the inner part.
  2. Let the double boiler sit over heat until it has been boiling for 5 minutes.
  3. Carefully stir the flakes into the water.
  4. Put the cover on the kettle and allow the cereal to cook for three hours.
  5. Add boiling water to the outer kettle as necessary during the cooking.
  6. Serve with cream.
