Ingredients for Rich Chocolate Cake Recipe
- 2 cups pastry or cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cup superfine sugar
- 3 squares baker's chocolate
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 container of chocolate frosting

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Sift the pastry or cake flour.
- Sift the flour a second time including the salt and baking soda.
- Blend the butter to a creamy texture and slowly stir in the sugar. Mix until light and airy.
- Add 1 egg and beat it well. Repeat with the other egg.
- Add the almond extract to the milk and set aside.
- Warm the chocolate in a microwave or on the stovetop. Allow it to cool.
- Slowly, combine the chocolate and butter mixture. Then, blend in the milk mixture.
- Pour the batter into 2 greased and floured 8-inch cake pans.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before topping with your favorite frosting.
