Ingredients for Recipe for Macaroni and Cheese Casserole Recipe

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 med. onion, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • 5 tbsp. flour
  • 3 1/2 cups milk, divided
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 lb. macaroni, cooked
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Heat the beef, onion, and seasonings together until brown.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the butter, flour, 2 1/2 cups of milk, and cheddar to make a sauce.
  4. Place half of macaroni in a casserole dish.
  5. Spoon on the beef mixture.
  6. Add the remaining pasta to cover the beef.
  7. Beat the remaining milk with the eggs and pour over the pasta.
  8. Pour cheese sauce over casserole and top with Parmesan.
  9. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  10. Bake for one hour.
