Ingredients for Raised Muffins Recipe 2

  • 1 cup milk, scalded
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 yeast cake
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Add milk to the water and let cool until lukewarm.
  2. Dissolve the yeast by adding the liquid gradually.
  3. Add the well-beaten egg, then the flour, sugar, salt, and melted butter.
  4. Beat thoroughly and let rise until light.
  5. Fill buttered muffin tins 2/3 full.
  6. Set to rise until tins are full.
  7. Bake in hot oven for about 20 minutes.
